Prophet Isa (Jesus), Peace Be Upon Him: The Prophet Born Through a Miracle
A focused Qur’anic account of Isa’s miraculous birth, prophethood, miracles by Allah’s permission and protection from those who plotted against him.

Among the great prophets sent by Allah was Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, the son of Mary.
Mary was a woman devoted to the worship of Allah. Allah chose her for an extraordinary honour and an extraordinary test.
Allah caused Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, to be born through a miracle.
His birth was a sign of Allah’s power.
Allah creates however He wills.
Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, was created without a father or mother. Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, was also created in an extraordinary way, showing that nothing is difficult for Allah.
When the time came for Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, to be born, Mary went through a very difficult experience.
After his birth, she returned to her people carrying her baby.
They questioned her.
Mary did not argue with them. Instead, she pointed towards her child.
Then Allah caused something remarkable to happen.
Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, spoke while he was still a baby.
He declared that he was a servant of Allah and that Allah had made him a prophet.
This miracle also helped show the truth about his mother.
As Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, grew, Allah gave him other extraordinary miracles.
By Allah’s permission, he healed people suffering from illnesses that people could not normally cure. By Allah’s permission, he even brought the dead back to life.
Each time the Quran describes these extraordinary acts, it makes something very important clear:
They happened by the permission of Allah.
Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, did not teach people to worship him.
He was a servant and messenger of Allah, and he called people to worship Allah.
Later, some people plotted against Prophet Isa, peace be upon him.
But they did not kill him.
And they did not crucify him.
Allah protected Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, and raised him to Himself.
This is an important part of Islamic belief about Prophet Isa, peace be upon him.
Muslims love and honour Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, as one of Allah’s great messengers.
We believe in his miraculous birth.
We believe in the miracles Allah gave him.
We believe that he called people to worship Allah.
And we believe what Allah tells us about him: he was not killed or crucified; rather, Allah raised him to Himself.
