Luqman’s Advice to His Son: Lessons from a Wise Parent
Luqman’s counsel shows how worship, Salah, patience, humility and gentle speech shape a faithful life.

Allah blessed Luqman with wisdom. Among the beautiful examples of that wisdom is the advice he gave to his son.
Luqman did not begin by telling his son how to become wealthy, famous or important.
He began with something far greater: his relationship with Allah.
He taught his son never to worship anything alongside Allah. This was the foundation upon which everything else was built.
He also taught him that nothing escapes Allah’s knowledge. Even something incredibly small, hidden away where nobody else could find it, would still be known to Allah.
This gives a child an important lesson:
Doing the right thing matters even when nobody is watching.
Luqman then taught his son to establish prayer, encourage what is good, discourage what is wrong and remain patient when difficulties come.
He also taught him how to behave around other people.
Do not look down upon others.
Do not walk around proudly as though you are better than everyone else.
Be balanced in the way you behave and do not speak to people harshly.
These are lessons that matter at home, at school, with friends and throughout life.
Being a good person is not only about what we believe. Our belief should also change the way we treat the people around us.
