The Creation of the Heavens and the Earth: A World Created with Purpose
A journey through the signs of creation, the purpose of human life, and the mercy of returning to Allah after a mistake.

Before the heavens and the earth were created, Allah existed, and there was nothing before Him. Allah is the Creator of everything, and everything that exists was created by His will.
Allah created the heavens and the earth with wisdom. He created the vast sky above us, the sun that gives light, the moon that shines at night, and the countless stars that fill the heavens.
He created the earth and placed within it mountains, plants, water and all kinds of living creatures. Every animal that walks, flies, swims or crawls exists because Allah created it and gave it life.
When we look carefully at the world around us, we see signs of Allah’s greatness. A tiny seed growing into a tree, rain bringing dry land back to life, the changing of night and day, and the amazing order of the heavens all remind us of the One who created them.
Allah also created human beings and gave them a special responsibility. He gave us minds with which to think, the ability to recognise right from wrong, and guidance showing us how to live. We were not created simply to eat, sleep and enjoy ourselves. We were created to worship Allah and to live according to His guidance.
The first human being was Prophet Adam, peace be upon him. Allah created him and taught him knowledge that the angels did not possess.
Allah then commanded the angels to prostrate before Prophet Adam, peace be upon him. This was not an act of worship towards Adam. It was an act of obedience to Allah and an honour that Allah gave to Adam.
Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, was also tested. His story teaches us something that every child and adult needs to remember: human beings can make mistakes, but when we sincerely turn back to Allah and ask His forgiveness, the way back to Him is open.
So when we look at the earth, we should see more than mountains, trees, oceans and animals.
We should see a world filled with signs of its Creator.
Every sunrise, every drop of rain and every living creature can remind us:
The One who created this world is powerful, wise and merciful.
