Prophet Ibrahim, Peace Be Upon Him: The Young Man Who Stood for the Truth
A focused account of Ibrahim questioning inherited false worship, standing for truth and trusting Allah when his people prepared a fire.

Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, lived among people who worshipped idols instead of Allah.
But Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, did not simply accept something because the people around him believed it.
Allah had given him sound judgement, and he understood that objects made by human hands could not be the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
He questioned his people about the idols they worshipped.
Why were they worshipping objects that could not speak to them, help them or protect themselves?
The people answered that they had found their forefathers worshipping them.
But Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, knew that something does not become true simply because it has been practised for a long time or because many people believe it.
He stood firmly for the worship of Allah alone.
This required enormous courage.
Eventually, his people became so angry with him that they wanted to burn him in a great fire.
But Allah protected Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him.
Allah commanded the fire to become cool and safe for him.
The people had intended to harm him, but Allah saved him.
His story teaches us that courage does not always mean being the strongest person in the room.
Sometimes courage means knowing what is right and refusing to abandon it simply because other people disagree with you.
It also teaches us that a believer should think carefully, seek the truth and place their trust in Allah.
